That is one odd story. It reminds me of The Island of Doctor Moreau. Vivisecting animals and men into man-beasts and so on. I wonder if H.G. Wells was inspired by newspaper yarns like this example? I see they refer to the legendary Chinese wild man as the Deren, but I thought it was Yeren. |

for a start the skin grafting wouln't work I'm sure there is some secret Chinese herb that makes the graft work. Why spoil a yarn with pesky scientific quibbles? |
