I believe this is based fairly closely on the Field of Glory Renaissance rules. Can anyone give me some idea about it? I'm particularly interested in whether it can be played by two players using the same computer/screen, but also people's thoughts on the game mechanics and how adaptable it is to both home-made scenarios and ongoing historical/fictional campaigns. Thanks in advance. |

The game is similar to the miniatures game FoG:R in many respects just like FoG is similar to FoG:A. This game, however, uses a square grid. Thankfully, everything is calculated for you so if you decide to "push" you have a percentage chance of victory. I have not tried yet, but I suspect you can "challenge yourself" to a multiplayer game via their multiplayer game engine. It is basically a PBEM style engine but you simply login, do your turn and send it. the next guy logs in, does his turn etc. So in that respect, you should be able to use the same account to play both sides. It is a really fun game. I am challenged against the computer. Good AI. |

It is and with the editor you can make your own games. The scenario generator can be used to make any kind of match ups as well. |

Which I take to mean it can be enjoyed solo as well – not strictly a multi-player game? Correct. AI is quite good. Lots of AIs you can just turn up to full and still out think it. This one is challenging me at the middle levels. |

Now bought the game and working my way through the tutorials and the smaller ECW battles. Thus far, looks like excellent value. Thank you to all who replied on here and elsewhere. |

I love the game, you get 2 games in one, TYW/ECW playes mostly the same, But the Italian wars part is a total diffrent game. Great game, and the AI will kick your ass! |

I also love this game. I play it regularly on-line with my two adult sons. We have played numerous games, many repeated to try for a different outcome. I'm still trying to win Naseby as the Royalist player. Great re-play value and dozens of scenarios make this an all-time favourite. |

Pike and Shot Campaigns out now – if you have P&S you can buy for 75%OFF! so my cost was £7.63 GBP. It extends the games with the 'Tercio to Salvo' expansion which include French Wars of Religion, Turks vs Hapsburg, Poles and Northern conflicts. Includes all the original campaigns/scenarios. Still some odd AI at times and I'm still bemused by cavalry suddenly attacking through woods but they were/are sufficiently infrequent problems to prevent me buying/recommending this upgrade. |

Apparently, the new campaign game and the old P&S+T2S game, can't interact on-line. However, that's good news on the discount as I only bought P&S in May! |

I got the campaign game for less then 5 bucks. Also just now they are releasing a big update with 37 new army lists that cover 1649-1698. So wars of the sun king. I hope the new lists also cover glorious revolution, wars in Ireland and the scanian war |

I'm thinking of getting this game as it really looks the part and covers my favourite P&S era. However, I wondered whether you have to have a Steam account to use it ? I have an aversion to Steam after an earlier incident ("Although you have just bought this game you are unable to play it until we say so…"). Any help here would be very much appreciated. Phil |
