How was it trying to maneuver so many ships? Was it hard to fit the maneuver stick in a crowded field like this? (Great write-ups, btw. Keep 'em coming!!) |

Not too bad. I made a 2 speed maneuver tool with my second one, and that is much easier to maneuver around for the SDs. |

Cool battles and great reports! I have to admit that considering the enormous size difference between the Imperial and Rebel ships I expect EVERY game to end the way these two did. I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of the larger rebel ships! |

I made a 2 speed maneuver tool with my second one, That certainly crossed my mind, though I doubt I'd be picking up a second starter to do so. I'm really expecting CorSec to come up with a startlingly surprising alternative, though, assuming it gets the interest many are showing. …I expect EVERY game to end the way these two did… Right, you have to fight them a hundred times to get something similar to a 'cinematic' result. ;->= Doug |

An all X-Wing force wastes a lot of points in this situation. 10 stock Y-Wings or 7 B-Wings would be more effective against targets with no fighter screen. |

If only those dang Y-Wings weren't still in Hyperspace! |

B-wings and y-wings haven't shown up yet. Hopefully soon! |

I'm definitely going to pick up a second movement thingy and set it up for speed 2. Great AAR! |

Thinking about this, I might have sent the X-Wings in alone and tried to play keep-away with the Rebel ships to prevent the Empire from scoring any points that way. The Victories roll a single blue die against squadrons, so an X-Wing can last about 10 turns against one (!). Try to place the X-Wing Squadrons so that the SD that they're attacking is obstructing fire from the other SDs. You must concentrate all of the X-Wings against a single SD so that it runs out of Defense tokens--and is faced with the choice of permanently burning tokens or taking damage. I figure that on the first turn of firing, you either chew through the shields or burn up the defense tokens. Of course, if the SD redirects all of the damage, you have easier facings to target next turn … Next turn is likely the same thing: finish off shields or finish off defense tokens, give or take. Then about two turns to kill the SD. The important thing to remember is that you don't have to get a lot of points to win, you just need to get more points than the other side! |
