WOW.

40 square meters.

Great model, 1/72 figures started on it 40 years ago with airfix. Unfortunately the owner/creator does not wargame with it, it is "just" a static display but with really superb terrain

What a work of love…I wonder what his day job is?
Thanks Tango01

The man has been in the local newspapers here in Belgium.
His house is build around the maquette.

I wonder if he even has heard of wargaming before?

Marcel180907 May 2015 1:51 p.m. PST

Yes he heard of wargaming, Iknow him a long time, but it just is not his thing. He did a lot of research to get all the terrain details right though.

Sebastian Palmer07 May 2015 2:56 p.m. PST

Very cool! I wonder if he'll let my wife and I pay him a visit while we're over for the Waterloo bicentennial?

MarkCorbett07 May 2015 4:16 p.m. PST

Nice, but €150,000.00 EUR! Wow

Madness, but madness I recognise oh too well. Good link

Am I allowed to say "Eh.."? For that kind of time and money I would expect something a bit more polished and nicer looking.

Gazzola06 Jun 2015 7:11 a.m. PST

Great picture and model. But at the same time, I'm with Lord Ashram, especially if 150,000 euros was actually spent on it. Isn't that something like £100,000.00 GBP or more? I would have expected a lot more for that amount. But I admire his time and effort and for getting it finished in time for the Waterloo anniversary. And many thanks to Tango01 for bringing it to our attention.
