A few questions and observations for anyone who has previously assembled the 1804 French Infantry from Victrix. Unless I follow the directions provided, I'm having a hard time making natural looking poses with the variety of arms they supply. Also, which non-sword arms are suitable for the command? Should I stick to "Arm A plus Arm B makes a marching pose" etc? I have previously built plastics from Perry, Warlord Games and Gripping Beast and have never encountered anywhere near this much flash. Did I get a bad box or is this indicative of Victrix's QA? The models themselves are full of animation and character, but I'm put off by having to scrape every piece that comes off the sprue. |

I can't comment on the French Napoleonic, since I only have a box of Victrix hoplites. On these there is no visible flash. But I believe the French infantry was one of their first boxed sets. |

There should be no flash with hard plastic kits. A seam line maybe, but no flash. They are metal molds. Matthew |

Matthew, I'll try to post pictures later, in some instances I'm trimming an eighth of an inch (app 3mm) of excess plastic from heads, arms, hands, etc and I'm afraid I'm losing a lot of the detail. Its much more substantial than mold lines. |

Victrix do have a lot of bits. I don't recall any special problems assembling the early French (although mine got painted up as Spanish). |

I've put together literally thousands of Victrix Napoleonics and never noticed any flash (sometimes a bit on the underside of the base). Maybe you've got a weird batch – perhaps contact them? I've always found them amazingly helpful |
