Does anyone have a full enough line of 54mm medieval figures in metal? I want to do demo games of Saga, but 54mm are impressive to see and stand out.

For wargame armies?? I think your best bet is Irregular Miniatures -

I game with Medievals in 54mm metal. Irregular is a superb resource. You don't mention what area of the Middle Ages you'd like to game, but two other sources could be Tradition (good for HYW, but expensive)

traditionoflondonshop.com

and Dorset have a marvelous range (again focused on HYW, but there are earlier types if you look around) that includes civilians and even animals!

dorsetsoldiers.com

Irregular also has some nice animals if you are wanting some objectives, plunder, etc.

For an earlier feel, and fabulous Robin Hood figures as well, you might take a look at Imrie kits:

imrierisleyminiatures.com They are some of my favourites, and if the era's right, I don't think you would be disappointed. They are expensive, but worth it.

Good luck and let us know how you get on--54mm is very eye-pleasing and so would be an excellent choice for a demo game. After handling them in metal 28's always feel pretty wimpy in comparison.

Wow. I can't afford the shipping on irregular. The others are silly priced. Bummer…

Why metal? 54mm metal figures are very expensive as you have discovered. Plastic is the only practical way in this scale, except to the odd special figure. When even half decently painted and on the table you will not know the difference, given the quality of the modern plastic figures.

Expeditionary Force Medievals are surely what you need? expeditionaryforce.com.sg

Barzso also do Robin Hood and Normans barzso.com, as do Replicants, replastic.com.

You don't say where you are but all these are availably mail order in the UK from Weston Toy Soldiers at plasticsoldiers.co.uk. and classictoysoldiers.com in the US.

Del Prado did some nice metal painted figures which can be picked up quite reasonably at toy soldier shows (beware some of the inflated prices asked for on eBay) both mounted and foot. link gives an idea of what was made.
