Hey all, I'm looking to do a small Star Wars fleet and I'm debating a number of options, particularly for my ISDs and Victory Star Destroyers. Anyone out there able to provide accurate lengths (in mm) of the Micro Machine Star Destroyer (I believe there to be two types?) and the Titanium Series Star Destroyer? I know Bergstrom does some stuff, as does Odyssey Slipways. I'll probably be using them to fill out the fleets. Scale is kind of out the window at this point, as I'll have to mix and match, I just want to make things look close. |

If you're starting from zero, you could give a look to Fantasy Flight's Armada, here: link |

You might want to try looking for some of the WOTC Star Destroyers, off hand I don't know the size of them. Also WOTC made an Interdictor as well. |

Dogged…I thought about that. Two problems with that. First, the size is huge. I think the Victory SD is around 100mm, which seems a little big. Second, the price. $40 USD for a single ship is a bit steep for me. Gideon…thanks.I'll look into them. I've heard there are some problems with their models being warped and bent, looking kind of crappy. Any knowledge of this? |

For my fleet project (started long before Armada), I'm using Studio Bergstrom's VSDs and ISDs, and the WOTC SSD. The SB stuff is scaled well to each other, and the SSD doesn't look out of place beside them, although it's technically a bit short (if you subscribe to the 8km long version). SB form the bulk of my project, supplemented with Odyssey, and with a WOTC Rebel Transport and the SSD being the only other outsiders. |

Micro machines ISD = 70mm long. 38mm wide. Titanuim ISD = 87mm long. 48mm wide. I only have (or know of) one type of MM ISD. |

smoltz29brave yes it's true about the warping and I should know as I have a few of the Star Destroyers. The warping varies from mini to mini some have minor warping which others have more severe warping. The few I have aren't that bad and their detail is good and I can say they're not crappy IMHO. |

I have a lot of size comparisons on my blog if you want to look there… link |

smoltz29brave the WOTC Star Destroyer is about 4 1/2 inches long. If you're interested I've decided to sell off most of my WOTC Star Wars Starship Battles ships which include 1 of my small number of Star Destroyers. There's around 30 ships or so of all types from the big ships all the way down to X-Wings I can provide a list if you would like to see what I'll have for sale and I'm planning on selling all the ships together. I'll post it in the SF Marketplace section of TMP tonite. |

Bergstrom's SW ships are 1:20000 scale and the ISD is the same size as the titanium version I think. Odyssey Slipways ships are 1:10000 plus he has a line of even smaller ships. |

All, thanks for the advice and ideas. It's helping me piece together how I want to build this fleet. I've already determined that using a consistent scale, or at least the scale I would like, will be tough. I'll have to settle for 'good enough.' So long as the ISDs are big, the VSDs are about half the size, and the support ships are smaller than the VSDs I'll be good. I think I want to go with F-Toys ISD, which is about 100mm long and good detail (1:12300 scale). From there I'll mix in Bergstrom's VSDs at 48mm, and then Odyssey Slipways stuff at 1:10000 scale. Or maybe mix in some Micro Machines as the VSDs. Then I have to figure out what to do about Mon Cal cruisers to match. |

The Micro Machines ship would be 1/22857 scale. The Titanium would be 1/18391 scale. So Bergstrom's 1/20000 should be right between the two. |
