Try actually reading the post. No actual Nazi comparison exists. Its just an example to illustrate the futility of trying to broker a peace with a site, well we all know what Frothers is like and how they prefer to entertain themselves.

Good luck establishing a dialog, truly. Just because I believe it to be a fools errand doesn't mean that you can't try. Good luck, the truth will out one way or another soon enough. Evil and good is a bit of an overstatement though, more like the number of jerks with a greenish tint versus those who are interested in a civil conversation about various aspects of our chosen hobby.

I hope that I am not alone in seeing the problem with this; while TMP is a (generally) benign dictatorship, Frothers is very much at the individualistic end of anarchism. So, who is Don kyoteblue going to negotiate with? There is no single authority who can declare Frothers to be at peace with TMP.

It only seems to be a tiny number of Frothers who are "at war" and I get the impression that they are not so much "at war" with TMP but rather with its owner.

I have to confess that I do not understand such levels of obsessive animosity. There are so many worthy targets for it, that to fix on one is just arbitrary. And what does it gain in the end?

When you go out in public, do you admit to people that you join online forums for the sole purpose of insulting other members for a day before you get kicked off? How do friends or family members react to you admitting to that?

There is no "controlling legal authority" over there. Dear Editor in Chief is a one man band, with some assistance from the editrices.
Who is in charge over there? There is nobody to stifle the loudmouths and those who hate TMP.
So any peace treaty is meaningless because it can't be enforced. Hell, the largest thread over there is dedicated to hating TMP.

Another point-of-view might be that the vast majority of Frothers and TMPers don't have a problem.

Of course he doesn't.
Trolling is by it's very nature a form of cowardice. It's people behaving in a way that they would never dream of in face to face interaction. I think most people, unless they are very careful, are guilty of being somewhat harsher online than they are in the real world. I certainly am, although I try not to. But the troll takes it to extreme…. often quite purposely.

Sadly, for a certain percentage of people, the disconnect and relative anonymity of the 'net is an excuse to act like idiots. That's why places like Frothers and 4chan are such cesspits. They attract that sort of scum.

I recognize that I'm breaking a basic 'net rule here by replying to a troll, but I think this can be a "teachable moment". So I'm going to alter my usual self-imposed standards of behavior for a moment.

I'm a political and social conservative. I'm not a Neo-Nazi or anything of that sort. But I'm far enough right to be considered "non-mainstream" by most people. So no, I'm not ok with Armintrout exclusively hiring Asian transvestites to edit the site. I'm against the general effort to "normalize" what I see to be a form of mental illness. So I'm not down with his other site and it's agenda. It's the reason that on the handful of occasions I have needed to, I refuse to use the pronoun "she" when referring to an editor.

But my personal views on the issue do not enter in to it one bit. You see, I learned the useful skill of "separating the art from the artist" long ago. TMP is TMP and the other site is the other site. Aside from the owner, there is no real cross-over. I'm here for the subject of TMP: wargaming and the gaming community. I'm not here for social and political issues.

Now if Armintrout were to use TMP as a soapbox to push his other site or it's agenda, I would have an issue with that. It would probably cause me to stop reading TMP. But he doesn't, so it's not a problem. See how that works? I judge the site on it's actual content, not my thoughts about the owner. I compartmentalize it.

My first clue was his writing style. He thinks that long complex sentences mark him as intelligent. Then he tried for baroque naughty imagery.

He gets bored after a half dozen accounts get locked and wanders off elsewhere.

The "other site" doesn't have any particular agenda, other than to allow the transpinay community to have a place to exchange thoughts and experiences.

Since you did exactly what I asked, I'm curious why you deleted my last post since it violated no rules. I am assuming because you did clean up the mess, it was deemed redundant. I hope that was why in any case.

Usually when a post is deleted for breaking forum rules, all posts commenting on that post are also deleted (as they usually make no sense at that point).

But you did delete the wrong post in my case as well. You deleted my comments about the problems with trying to make peace with the Frothers site, but left in place my reply to the deleted troll. Oops…

As to you last point in regards to the other site, it's best to agree to disagree. Like I said, I am more than capable of drawing a distinction between the two.

I submit that they are not. It's really between Bill and the few people who have been banned here, that post on Frothers, on one particular thread, on the Froth Pot.

Well not just Bill per say. But myself, John OFM, Otto and others here have had thrown at them, been bullied, highly insulted [to treat with insolence, indignity, or contempt, etc.], with the mean spirited comments, lies, etc., from some of those denizens of that other site. Whose name will not be mentioned … My skin is thick … but there is a limit, IMO …

Most of my personal opinions to all of it are of no consequence to anyone. I will say however that it is almighty tiresome at this point, and no one looks better for getting involved in it. It makes us all look bad to outsiders, and stirs turmoil where there should be none in a micro hobby about little tin soldiers.

Not worth it to anyone IMO, neither participants nor bystanders.
