These past few months I have been turning out WWI Germans like some well oiled piece of Teutonic machinery. With over 100 Bosche finished it's now time to take a more Laissez Faire attitude, spark up a Gauloises and make a start on some Poilu.

Actually, I've not smoked for ten years and am not about to start again.

Those spiffing chaps at Gripping Beast did me a Salute pre-order and last weekend I was filing and sticking them together.

With the long Bank Holiday weekend I managed to get eighteen completed and another half dozen are coming along nicely.

Wow, very nice.

Excellent. Great subject too. The late WWI French have the best looking 'modern' (has it really been 100 years?) uniform IMO. Just needs a nice silver Nieuport 12 or 17 overhead.

They are very nice, yes! Altho' my personal preferences are the mustard-khaki colonial army uniform but especially, the lovely, archaic 1914 uniform. "The red pants are France!" as one French military leader once groused. Garance and kepis and colors flying, it's not war but it's magnificent.

Thanks chaps. Hopefully I'll soon have about 60 done and can play some Chain of Command with them
