The "Not just a Brush War" book by Ivan Sorensen has rekindled and improved my African Imagi-Nations project. Using a scenario from Neil Thomas and testing the FiveCore Company rules I staged a counter attack by the Colonial Saxonese Army to retake the village of Woody Knob.

I'm slowly working on 1/72 African Imaginations forces; the genre has a lot of potential.

Can you tell us a little about the rules?

Very nice AAR and I am always a fan of the "push figures together to make stands" method.
I've done that on several occasions :-)

David,

Fantastic, looks like you had a helluva fight. I really enjoyed the batrep, thanks for posting, and I look forward to more Saxonese vs NLA.

Thanks a lot guys!
@79th I look forward to see some pics of your armies. I agree regarding the genre. looking forward to experimenting with strategic and tactical operations using different gear.
This was my first outing with the rules but they gave an interesting and enjoyable game. My first impressions are they seem to be suitable for any 20th century conflict. They certainly a very good tool box. I recommend you pic up a copy from wargame vault because they are a very reasonable price and at the least you'll probable find some good ideas in there.
