Incredible work. How hard is it to use the proxxon?

It works like a bandsaw or jigsaw (except that instead of a moving blade there is a hot wire) you push the foam against the wire and the heat melts a narrow path through the foam, cutting it neatly without all the mess normally associated with working with Styrofoam or blue board. There is a bridge for making straight cuts but you pretty much have to cut curves free-hand; it helps a LOT if you attach a pattern to the foam before you cut curves with it.

I plan on doing an article on my blog extolling the virtues of this product and reviewing the ton of junky "hobby" products that I purchased before I got this one.

If you are planning on doing a lot of terrain or modeling you really could use one of these….don't waste time and money on "hobby" products; go big-time and skip straight to the professional product.

You will be happy you did.
