If you look at the Marketplace posts quite a few of them are simply ads for ebay auctions. It has become a virtual storefront for many of these posters. I thought the original intent of the Marketplace was to provide a vehicle for TMPers to list and sell their stuff to other TMPers. So I propose a the following: 1. Limit the Marketplace to direct sales to the members. 2. Allow links to ebay auctions. 3. No restrictions on anything. 4. Your an idiot! It is fine the way it is, don't mess with it. |

Limit the marketplace to direct sales from members to members. No businesses unless it is a private sale by the owner. If I want to see what's on eBay, I can search eBay and don't need to come here. Mike Bunkermeister Creek Bunker Talk blog |

Each market place board is divided into two parts; Auctions and Direct Sales. If you don't wish to see the Auctions you have the ability to turn them off, as I have done! Of course the "new" rules on ebay may cut down on the number of postings now! The same can be done with the Direct Sales listings in periods that one is not interested in anyway. So why all the angst over the Market place! |

I don't mind auction postings. Its better than individual postings for one item per post half a dozen times a day by the same people over and over. |

Doctor X has hit on the real problem. I would add that the same few people reposting the same items every few turns. |

There is NO problem! Leave it all alone. |

I would limit an individual to three marketplace postings per day. I have nothing against eBay links. I think it is a courtesy to TMPers to let us know what's available. I will be cleaning out my basement again the next few weeks and find both useful. |

I agree with Doctor X as well. I thought one of the Marketplace rules was you couldn't run a business through the Marketplace. And yet, it would appear that that is exactly what at least one individual is doing. In addition, he posts the same items every couple of weeks – some have now been posted to the Marketplace half a dozen times. And also apparently, gone are the days when people had the courtesy to post all of their sales in one post and crosslink it to each individual marketplace rather than make six different posts for individual items. Winston has a good idea – limit Marketplace postings. |

I do run a business and post in the marketplace on occasion when I get the appropriate stock. Usually I post it before it gets processed and posted to ebay at a higher price. Usually these are huge lists of items for the same games. Never more the 4 in a day. And occasionally I post a TMP members only sale and link to ebay as a searchable catalog. However I am not doing this on a weekly basis and so far I have not heard any complaints. |

I realize its not me, but by saying business's shouldn't be allowed to post in the marketplace includes me and all the other advertisers. |
