Howdy!

As one of my projects for the year, I decided upon the Crimean War. I've managed to make a decent start on it, but still many miles to go!

All figures are 1:72 Strelets, with the Guard Officer on Bentick's command base a metal figure from Tumbling Dice (which match in perfectly with the plastics!

Nice work Ryan. I've been considering a big leap into the Crimean War for some time. I have my eyes on Eureka's 18mm line, which has a lot of variety. One of these days …

They look good thumbs up! I've always been a bit iffy with Strelets which don't look that great in raw plastic but often turn out convincing when painted ….

MINIFIGs produced a nice Crimean War range in 15mm back in 1987. I still have mine, although they've not been on the tabletop in over 10 years.

Not quite as animated as your 1/72 Strelets figures, however.

Very nicely done! I picked up all the 1/72 Crimean line except the British Guard pack. I actually have 15mm Rank and File with some Minifigs already painted. I just love 1/72 so bought them.

Great period, I have about 1200 with about 1050 of them painted

There is something about those big rounded bearskins that makes them look a great priod to paint and play. I keep looking at the Strelets range and pondering – especially as the cavalry sets have a great command range, and falling horses – very dynamic.

So thanks for that – very inspirational pics
