Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has played or knows of some good reviews of the above rule book.

Thanks!

It seems the ground/time scale is something a few people have complained about and that the musket ranges don't change based on the size of the unit ie Tiny to medium etc. Does anyone think that those issues hinder play or is it just an abstraction one gets use to when playing?

VicCina,
You may be confusing Force Scaling (skirimish, battalion, regimental, etc.) with Element Size. Within each Force Scale, Element Size can vary from Tiny to Large. The oddity (to me at least) is that different Force Scales have the same range in inches. That is, in a Force Scale = "skirmish" level game, one Element (2-3) men has the same range as a Force Scale = "Division" level game.

To correct for this in my 28mm battalion level games, I keep the range in inches (12 inches) but for 15mm battalion level games I change to cms (12 cm range).

Works for me.

I thought it was strange at first, but then I thought of it as 20 guys shooting at 20 guys would be at much closer range than 200 guys shooting at 200 guys.

All of my AWI troops are 10mm figures, based on 1" square bases. Currently for the rules I use now, a unit is four stands and represents a regiment. Does this scheme work for the rules and would you use the idea of centimeters instead of inches for ranges?

@VicCina:

Your 10mm setup matches my 15mm setup very closely so changing to cms ought to work fine. My 15mm "regiments" have a frontage of 90mm which is close enough to 4 inches.

Thanks for the information.

In general do you feel the out come of a game is satisfying? A somewhat historical ending?
