Hi,

I want to get some custom decals made but am looking for dry transfer decals. Was wondering if anyone has had this made and if they could recommend a company to do this. Any info would be appreciated.

What I'm looking for would be for 15mm armour and FOW bases. Looking for turret numbers and balkenkruezes but I have FOW bases by Battlefield Accessories that have the raised backside. Would like to put unit name and stats on it. I do not want to do this with water transfer decals, have had very little luck with larger decals, so want to try dry transfer decals.

Thanks

Pretty sure that's a no, sorry – all of the dry transfer companies I know of screen print, which means 50-100 sheets is their minimum print run. You can get kits to home print dry transfers, but obviously they'll be limited to what your printer can do – great for black text, but colours will come out muddy looking depending what they're applied to, and no white.

What sort of problems are you having with waterside decals? I'm sure you can get what you want already in waterside form and they are much easier to apply than dry transfers.

I'm pretty sure that 4D models in London do custom dry rubs downs but you'll find them harder to use on models than waterside decals. Just as an example you have to put the decal down in exactly the right position first time, there is no option to tweak and nudge it into place.

To me the solution here is to work out what you are doing wrong with watersides. I've used hundreds and hundreds of the things and once you have the technique sorted they are really easy to use. I've used sheets from various companies include Dom's and I've designed and had my own sheets printed. Personally I wouldn't go near dry rub downs. I've used them once and they are tricky, too tricky.

Skytrex does turret numbers and crosses as a dry transfer be careful tho' as some are dry and others water slide.
agree with Timmo dry can be tricky.

Only looking for info on custom dry transfers. For me, the placement issue is very minor. Friends have shown me how to make that a non-issue.

Thanks everyone for your input.
