So hand phasers are usless, you can actually dodge the damn beam. blastees seems useless, the ppg's from B5 seem ok. But honestly the most effective sci fi weapons I've seen are just guns with plastic bits glued on them to look sci fyish. Like the pulse rifle ect. So have humanity all ready made the perfect way of killing things on rocky places with gravity? And we now just make them more deadly? |

Ak47, except if you're actually floating in space, because the recoil will push you away from the target 🌞 |

AK47…getting pushed away from the target might be a good thing. Barring that, the PPC from BattleTech…always loved the PPC head shots. |

Skippy, again normal gun just a bit fancy, still fires projectiles through a chemical reaction. |

Men in Black shiny handguns. Light sabres. Some of the hand held weaponry deployed in Ian M Banks "Culture" series are capable of taking out half a planet. Iirc A E Van Vogts hero in "Slan" had a sort planet busting wand thing. Fremen handguns in Dune could take out quite large ships. Lasguns were also pretty good. |
