Nice account

I find that that pistolliers are good for shoot 'n scoot – they are usually too few and not well enough armoured to take on much from the front, but using the Fast Cavalry rules they can be very useful on the flanks

Nice report. Thanks for posting. Are you using 8th edition?

Thanks for the report.

I do enjoy a Bret vs Empire battle, especially when the Empire leave the Demigriffs and Wizard Wagons at home.

Thanks all.
I get thhe *theory* of pistoliers – it's the practice of using them at which I need more, erm, practice.
:)

We are indeed using 8th, gives us a good fun game.

I love Pistoliers. Consequently, my regular opponent HATES them. I routinely get my points back from them. They have been toned down some in 8th but can still be highly effective in the right situations.

I try to use them against stuff that can't shoot back or just hang out on the flank making the other commander hesitate to commit to a charge for fear of being flanked.
