Last Saturday a buddy and I ran a 28mm scale "Mech Attack" game at Little Wars. Really a great experience, the game was full and we had a bunch of folks waiting for last minute spaces. AAR, pics and thoughts about the convention here. link We had run the same scenario at Adepticon last month which I posted about here: link Last week was the 4th time running Mech Attack at a convention and we've gotten to the point where teaching and running the game is really smooth. We actually ended up with enough leftover time to fight a 3 team deathmatch following the conclusion of the main scenario. I think we've got the game to the point where we can put back in the infantry and vehicle units that we took out after our first Mech Attack convention game in 2013 link Some pics from last week to entice you to visit the AAR's above. Overview of the warzone.
Finally got some tracks for my EL station. Going to build some proper trestles for next time.
The Attackers have blown up one of the bunker objectives but the defenders give no ground.

Thanks for the kind words folks. D6, We used Mech Attack from Armor Grid games. We did double the ranges and movement rates though. link |

Karl, That was a good looking board and some excellent looking terrain. John |

Thanks John, It was good talking with you at LW. |

Karl, can you describe how you go about using infantry in the game at this scale? Do you mount individually or use a multi-base/movement tray? Good looking game, by the way! |

Thanks Capt, Infantry in the game is intended to be used multibased. In our 2013 28mm Convention game we used units of 10 individually based infantry which was probably too much. We haven't used infantry in convention games since then, but if we do next year I think I'll make up some movement trays out of CD's or Frozen Juice lids with 5 or 3 figures per unit respectively. When we play in 10mm using rebased mechwarrior clix, we just base the pre-based mechwarrior infantry units on top of 25mm hexes. |

Mech Attack are one of my two rules (Ganesha's Samurai Robots Battle Royale being the other) I'm looking to use in mech gaming – have you come up with any other house rules (e.g. new weapons) for it? |

One of our players dabbled with some close combat weapons but we never tried them. The Mech Attack author let us see the 2.0 rules which should be out soon. Unfortunately they aren't for distribution, but I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. |
