Looking good. The army will become impressive when you add the "Fuzzy's", cavalry and camelry for the later adventures. Any plans for sailing craft? Cheers, |

Thanks! I've the riflemen, Fuzzy Wuzzys, Camels and horse lined up after the main 'flags' of infantry are finished. No river craft yet. I've looked around but may just make my own. |

Nice. About half of my 15mm Dervish Rubs are OGs. Nice work! |

If you do want to get some water craft, Museum Miniatures has some very nice dhows and their Arab casualties work well as crew figures. I have several – though they lounge far down the line of figures awaiting paint. |

Also the Thouroughbred 15mm "Barbary Pirates" set. Wonderful, and useful for Dervish dhoh crew, Arab slavers, etc. |

I've been tempted to jump into this period for some time, and have been curious about the 15mm OG15 figures. can someone offer your impressions about this range? |

I don't have everything: no Egyptians, for instance, but overall they're very good. You certainly get plenty of variety in the Mahdist packs. One oddity is that the Jihadiya have bayonets! Still, it's easy enough to remove them – and it does mean you can use them as Bazingers. They're size and style compatible with Blue Moon too, if you want even more variety. The British are chunkier than the ones in the Zulu Wars range, and the helmets are a little on the pointy side – but not outrageously so. |

DW: I really love the 15mm Old Glory Dervish/Ansar. They're a good price, and the detail is excellent. Some really good dramatic poses, flowing robes etc. The Peter Pig ones are also very good. Much easier to paint, but less detail than the above (and slightly smaller as mentioned). Excellent range though. If I had the choice I'd go for OG above all else. Unfortunately Timecast here in the UK (suppliers of OG) run out of their stock very quickly, and sometimes you have to wait several weeks for them to re-stock from the states. In these cases, if I need some figures for an upcoming game urgently I'll go for PP. |
