Apologise if this is old news to you all but just listened to the Salute podcast from Meeples and Miniatures and the interesting news to this board is that the forthcoming Halo 'ground' game (not the 'fleet' game about to launch) will be in 15mm scale. There are some pics I found on /tg/ forums but the accompanying commentary was so slop bucket I wasn't going to link to it. |

I suppose that makes sense, especially with some of the larger vehicles. Still, I would have loved 28mm Damon. |

28mm? Like all those HaloClix I have? Let's give another scale a shot. |

I have haloclix too. they were not that great. Damon. |

Allow me to squeal like a little girl in anticipation of more 15mm goodness! |

That would be very tempting to put money into… |

15mm is the absolute right scale for this in my opinion. I haven't gamed in that scale in a long time but that would be my choice. |

15mm is what I call the wargamers scale. You can go from skirmish size to division +, something that 6mm and 28mm can't do effectively. And 15mm sci fi is the one true purpose! This will be interesting. |

The 15mm figs on display at Salute looked a little undersized, but they were prototypes. |

You can play a skirmish game in 6mm. You can also play naked, don't make it a good idea ;) |

But is it safe to say that even at 15mm the vehicles and infantry will still be considered huge? McFarlane HALO Ops as an example. Grimm |

Do we mean "15mm" here or do we mean "1/100th". I know I'm a bit of a nutter on this but somebody really ought to tell Spartan that they ain't the same thing. 1/100th should be the way forward and not 1/120th (traditional '15mm'). Or the figures will look small compared to recent offerings. And none of us want that, do we? Gosh I hate 'non' scale scales… John T |

I'll throw in another wrench… What if the Halo Spartan is actually 15mm tall, that's not 1/120, that's more like 1/144… They are far taller then the average human in that armor… I hope for 1/100 or 1/182. |

I am more curious about price -- 15mm gamers tend to want cheap over everything else. |
Grimmnar | 03 May 2015 2:19 a.m. PST |
John you are a nutter. I have always been on the understanding that 1/100 was the traditional 15mm? And yes, Spartans are taller than normal humans. Hence the McFarlane comment. Supposed to be 15mm but since it is Spartan infantry and gear they were too big for standard 15mm lines. Well all but the Falcons aswe all know and love. ;-) Jason i disagree. I already know 15mm will be economical. For me i want quality in my 15's. 15mm just get better and better each day. Its the 28mm+ crowd looking for lower prices i would say. Grimm |

Very much looking forward to seeing the rest of this line. I won't mind paying a bit more for them over what I've paid for my Spartan/Elite/Grunt proxies (and McFarlane vehicles) as they'll be a perfect match for the source materials – and scaled to each other. :) |

JasonM I have to say the gamers in this scale that I know do it more because they like the scale. The price is not for them (or me) the primary driver. Grimnar: glad to have my lack of sanity confirmed! John T |
