"Hey all, today I thought I'd share the new Plasma Obliterator that I worked on. I have mixed feeling's about this model.

On one side I like the way it looks, it is a big model for the price you are paying and I enjoyed painting it. However this model almost drove me crazy trying to put it together. In short, what was GW thinking as hardly any of the parts fit and the way you have to assemble it is a juggling act. It took myself and my wife together almost 3 hours to construct it. It's hard to describe without showing you first hand, but a combination of parts not wanting to fit and having 2 people trying desperately to hold the model in place whilst gluing is a tough chore…"

That is GW for you.

Just another in a long line of very over priced models.

$150 USD base cost so around $165 USD in total.

Not worth one dine if it takes hours to put together.

$150 USD ??? The price was more like $85. USD When it was available on the web store. Its a pretty big model so thats about typical. Its now OOP and being sold on ebay, so maybe thats where you got the figure of $150. USD

Mitmee, GW's models are top of the line models. Yes they're expensive and as any manufacturer there are misses and hits, but the fit and quality of the models are normally outstanding. Sadly yes, this one seems to have been a kiss but my experience with GW has been excellent, with replacements for what ever I've had issues with.
This is not addressing any issues people have about the style of GW's sculpting mind you, just of the usual quality of their kits.

Okay but their current style of sculpting is horrible.

As are their current set of rules.

I have an immense love of plasma guns, so a HUUUUGE plasma gun is right up my alley. And my LGS actually has one at the $83 USD price. Now all I need is money…

Something similar could be scratch built for less time, money, and effort. Just add skullz.

Lol, yes Mithmee, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. 👍

I agree some of the rules are wonky, especially the line of sight rules and how they handle some of the rules for cover.
I agree to scratch building, but I also know I lack the skill to build anything as good as that. Fortunately, I don't want one.
But I am going to sell my kidneys to get another Imperial Knight. 😳

I managed to trade some of my old stuff and get a Plasma Obliterator!! Love it!!
