Which colored primer is good for 32mm Heroic Scale Miniatures? I am thinking about using colored primer to basically "skip a step" when painting. I heard this method works good. For example, I have to paint a bunch of Orcs and just priming them all green would save me considerable time since they are mostly green anyways. Then I can paint the rest of the non-green parts on them. Then dip them in Army Painter Quickshade or Minwax Polyshades afterwards. So which brand and type of colored spray primer do you all recommend? Thanks. |

I wouldn't concentrate on brand, but focus on color. Find the color you want among the big brands. GW, Army Painter, Testors, etc. Xin |

If Walmart has the colour you are looking for it is the one with which you should go. |

The Walmart stuff is good! Only comes in a couple colors though. Depending on what colors you want, Krylon also have a line of spray paint intended for camouflaging hunting equipment that works well. link Great if you need green for Orcs! I also found this kind at Ace Hardware. It works well for other colors. link Anything that goes on thin and dries flat is good. |

If using as a primer, make sure it's a Flat finish, not satin or gloss. Subsequent coats of paint will adhere better. |

I use that approach when painting plastic Army Men figures. I only paint the parts which deviate from the plastic's color; then I Dip them using Royal Walnut color Minwax Polyshades, followed by a matte clear coat. Makes painting them v-e-r-y fast, indeed. Best of luck! Cheers! |
