From what will I'm sure become a regular stream of requests for information here is the first of many; Can any of you knowledgeable people point me in the direction of 28mm Pelican Banners? |

Have you done any research on the uniforms for this brigade? |

The Orleans Guard Battalion drew my interest with its blue uniforms? I already have their banner, purchased from flags of war! The original flag is in the collection of the Museum of the Civil War in New Orleans! A 90 Regiment, Shiloh was the only meaningful action seen by this outfit |

There are two uniforms worn by men of the Crescent Regiment, both uniforms survived Shiloh sadly their wearers did not! The first was a grey frockcoat with yellow piping on sleeves, collar and down the front of the coat. The other was a dark grey commutation shell jacket. I intend to go for a roughly equal mix of these, unless further information is forthcoming during my research? The 18th Louisiana as far as I can discover bore a Pelican Banner into battle at Shiloh? Their uniforms could possibly have been either frockcoats or commutation jackets, maybe a mixture of both? Apparently two company's wore blue jackets or coats, causing some confusion on the field? I may include a base or two of these blue-coated Rebels just for the sake of completeness? Ketchum's Alabama Battery; equipped with four 6lb smoothbores and two 12lb Howitzers. The men themselves wore blue-grey shell jackets, trousers and kepi's. Red trim on the kepi and shell jacket? |

Some really nice figures purchased from Crusader Miniatures and a flag from Flags of War will soon be appearing as the Orleans Guard Battalion. Pics soon to follow! |

Additional figure purchases (made while my friend and painter gets ready to move house), have yielded; Clack's Louisiana Battalion = Perry's metal Confederates in frock coats. 23rd Tennessee and 24th Tennessee = Perry's plastic Confederate Infantry with a few metal figs to make up numbers. Howitzer section/Washington Artillery= First Corps. A real mish-mash here, Clack's tiny command and the Washington Artillery boys are from Anderson's Brigade, and the 23rd Tennessee and 24th Tennessee Regiments are from Cleburne's Brigade. |
