I want to build a Aesir army for Hordes of the Things. I think I have everything worked out except for one thing.

That is the goats that pull Thor's chariot. Does anyone have any idea where I can find 6mm goats? Yes, I am building this army in my preferred 6mm scale.

I would suggest looking at n scale or z scale farm animals for railroad modeling.

If you are using 6mm for the troops, why not 10-15mm for the "gods"? I tend to "upscale" heroes and Gods to 25/28mm for my 15mm forces

Yup. Thor's goats would, I would think, be bigger than the normal goat anyway.

I'm making Thor's chariot in 28mm, and couldn't find decent goats. I did some research, and found that there are four major differences between goats and sheep: 1. Goats' tails point upward, while sheep tails hang down. 2. Sheep have a split from their upper lip to their nose, and goats don't. 3. Goats usually have beards, and sheep don't: 4. Goat horns don't curl around the way sheep horns do.
What I'm getting at is, if you find a sheep that looks good, and you think you can do these things, or don't believe they would be visible in 6mm (the split upper lip comes to mind here) sheep could be an option.

Do you have Odins' pig?

I like the idea of 10mm gods. I considered that option as well. I like the idea of 6mm Thor because the giants mentioned in the epics were supposed to be larger than Thor and his buddies. My frost giants are going to be Magister Militum's 15mm Undead ghouls…although they will be heavily bearded.

Microworld games does a 6mm Thor model. I considered using a 6mm Thor with 10mm goats. The scale differences are to much though.

The idea of converting 6mm sheeps into goats is also a good option. Great ideas there Grelber. Most of those physical difference will not matter at 6mm. The horns and tails are easy enough to do.

These are good ideas. Does anyone know why Thor's chariot was pulled by goats? I understand they protect sheep herds from predators. What stopped the Norse from making Thor's steeds wolves or bears or something more vicious?
