In 1914 during the battle of the Marne a French cavalry unit had got up to ten miles or so behind the German lines, it was night time and they were tired, hungry and many of the horses were exhausted. Just as they were about to turn back a local farmer told them that in a field nearby were several German flying machines, the cavalry set out to attack them. This is the scenario which met us as we turned up at the club last night for a 'mystery' game.

Nice write-up. Sounds like it was a fun battle. From your title, I must admit I was expecting something involving pegasi! |

A new one on me. I had heard that some cavalry had captured some ships offshore during the Napoleonic Wars though. link |

I really enjoyed planning this game which was first used at Hammerhead. I know that most people use 10/12 mm for BIG battles ( one stand equals a company or battalion) but I am designing rules for 1:1 scale company actions and am surprised how well this scale works at that. |
