The Joker from the upcoming 'Suicide Squad' is Jared Leto. Madness!

It's inspired by this famous picture:

Edgy doesn't mean "better." He has some livin' up to do…

Just not the joker without the wide grimace.

chuck05 Fezian28 Apr 2015 5:29 p.m. PST

He looks like Marilyn Manson.

Why so hipster?

I understand completely why they felt compelled to take the character in a new direction. Both Heath Ledger and Jack Nicholson left indelible marks with each actor's interpretation. If this is the Joker we deserve, they could have done worse than tap Jared Leto for the job. He's a good actor.

It's coming out that this is NOT what he will look like. This is a Twitter pic of one possible look or to garner interest in the movie.

I don't care for it in all honesty

tnjrp29 Apr 2015 10:40 p.m. PST

Jared Leto I have no problem with. The makeup is another story. "New direction" shouldn't mean throwing out all the recognizable parts of something and replacing them with parts that sort of convey some of the same ideas.

Here's the latest pic released, much better.

That's more like it. Still not too keen on the idea of the Joker having tattoos tho.

Still not the Joker

Comparing the two pictures, I prefer the one DsGilbert posted!

Although to be fair, the behind the scenes pic might be misleading. Plus, remember when a lot of us, and I include myself in this, thought "Heath Ledger as the Joker, no way!"

Time will tell, we need to give the actor his chance to give us a new interpretaion of a classic villian. Don't envy him! Good luck, Sir!

Plus, remember when a lot of us, and I include myself in this, thought "Heath Ledger as the Joker, no way!"

I remember. I also remember I, and a lot of us, were right. He was awful.

Cesar Romero is the Joker. Following his work, the comic version was based on him for decades. Nicholson was also excellent, second only to Cesar.

This new one looks absurd, more like a loser that want to emulate the joker, not the actual Joker.
If he's just supposed to be a fanboy, then sure, it looks fine.

The first thing I thought when I saw that pic of Leto was, "Why so serious?"
