Ride or die? More like try to ride.An ultra-nationalist Russian biker gang riding under the banner "For the Motherland, for Stalin" set off on a cross-European ride to mark the end of World War II — but didn't get very far. Twelve members of the Night Wolves — who have longstanding ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin — were stopped at the Belarus-Polish border on Monday evening… link |

Sounds like a good thing to game with the new plastic apocalypse biker set from Wargames Factory. |

I like how they revere Stalin AND the Orthodox Church at the same time. |

This was prefigured in a Science Fiction book, where the Russian-crewed spacecraft revered Icons of Lenin and Gospodin. An anecdote SERIOUSLY weakened by my ancient brain's inability to recall any title, author-type corroborative detail. |

I like how they revere Stalin AND the Orthodox Church at the same time. There is rarely any logic in nationalism. |

Putin does much the same. He'll rally up memories of defeating the Nazi's and being a world power, but very selectively so the cronies and oligarchs don't get too worried. |

"There is rarely any logic in nationalism." Ain't it the truth… |

These nationalists were riding Harley's, apparently. Don't they have any bikes of their own? |

It's an irregular adjective… I am patriotic - You are nationalistic - He/she is a xenophobe. |

In the NBC video nor in Russian news have I seen any pro stalin stuff. It was a Ww2 commemorative demonstration, supported by the Polish bikers. Unlikely to be pro Stalin. |

One patriot is a nationalist for the others and vice versa. |

And this is modern politics nothing to do with the Leader of 'one' of the allied leadership. Heck the Hells Angels were reviled for what they stood for, the old slogan "For Stalin For Motheland" was white washed on plenty of Soviet vehicles again its all politics. Put it on the Modern board Bill. |

Such a huge fuss for about ten old guys on bikes. Seems a lot of people have nothing better to do, or want to fill the waves not to talk about other things. |
