I will admit I would not know a Piedmontese from a Neapolitan and thought the latter was an ice cream anyway. To me Garibaldi is a delightful biscuit that, once (1980s), could be bought with a layer of dark chocolate. I "did" the Wars of Italian Unification once upon a time at school, but long forgot it. This thread needs more pictures. Let me add one of the best figures I think Ged had ever produced. I do not have him, as I got one digit wrong in the code…….but he could fit into the Napoleonic Era, no problem. He is, of course, a trumpeter of Neapolitan Dragoons. One day……

thanks Liam………….I agree the Neapolitan Cavalry of the day 1860 onwards were splendid looking……..they did take a lot of inspiration from an older King of Naples one Joachim Murat it seems im drawn to this splendidly pictorial army, working on Bersaglieri at present . regards Ged gringo40s.com |
Mad Guru | 16 Apr 2018 4:01 p.m. PST |
Ah yes, Marshal of France & King of Naples Joachim Murat… didn't his grandson Joachim Joseph command a squadron of Imperial Horse Grenadiers in Mexico, during the Maximillian Intervention??? JUST KIDDING!!! Though he was a French army officer and rose to be a Major General, I don't know if Murat's Grandson Joachim Joseph ever served with the French army in Mexico. This is just a shameless effort to draw Ged's attention back to another of his more obscure 19th Century ranges. |

Mad Guru I applaud your clever intervention……..I believe it may have been Marshal Neys son was with the Contras…though one of Murats sons did end up in America. I will return to the period you mention.. hope alls good with you………..French foreign legionnaires are flying out the door …celebrating one of your favourite actions regards Ged gringo40s.com |

Beautiful Bersaglieri but wrong uniform. They are simply realised changing the heads to Papal Irish Battalion. They need more transformations to be sold. |
