I stumbled across this on the web. I really hope these are just reenactors with a bizarre sense of humor!

This is from another website ( link ) : "I think the image is a period one. They are too thin and too young for reeanctors and the topic is too goofy. Reenactors would have been fatter, older and wearing camouflage and show a late war influence. These guys are very pristine and uniform. The image is pre-war. The soldaten are wearing the M36 feldbluse ( blouse ) and M35 stalhelm ( helmet ) . They are also lacking load bearing harness. There is also an absence of war-time awards." Odd bears seem to feature more than once in photos of German soldiers. |

Curious to have one guy in a trench coat and the rest in the regular jackets. |

This photo might've been taken in Zakopane, Poland. The white bear is a traditional mascot and tourists often take photos with him, so I guess German soldiers on a leave would do so too. Here's another photo – this one's definitely from Poland.

Surely a polar bear suggests evidence of a secret base in the arctic circle. Perhaps these men had returned with a souvenir? Sounds like a good pulp scenario to me! Bluewillow may be right about the Bundy bear. At least it's not a drop bear. |

Sarmor's story checks out, google Zakopne miś or Zakopne niedźwiedź and you'll find dozens of pics tourists and what I can only assume are men in bear suits (or else real Polish bears are awfully unfortunate looking but remarkably charming creatures). |
