I recently purchased some 18mm WSS from Eureka Miniatures USA. When first browsing the different figure descriptions and code numbers I noticed that they didn't correspond with the WSS Catalonia types from the Eureka main website in Australia. I just received them today (excellent AA++ service from Rob, BTW) and comparing them to the pictures of the Catalonians from Eureka Australia they ARE different. Eureka Australia has the WSS Catalonians but not these Spanish WSS; Eureka USA has the Spanish but not the Catalonians!?!

Anybody else notice this while browsing the two different sites?

I took some shots of the different poses I purchased:
(300WSS001) Mounted General
(300WSS101) Spanish line, advancing
(300WSS102) Spanish line, firing/loading
(300WSS103) Spanish, officer
(300WSS104) Spanish, drummer
(300WSS105) Spanish, standard bearer
(300WSS106) Spanish, NCO
(300WSS108) Spanish Grenadiers, throwing grenades

I think that general is going to find his way into a lot of WSS armies!

Nice to see a manufacturer taking note of what the first "S" in WSS stands for, and making figures for what is probably the most widely ignored of the major armies of this conflict.

"I think that general is going to find his way into a lot of WSS armies!"

Yeah, it's a real dandy (29mm from the base of the hooves to the top of the horses head).

Here's some comparison shots of 4 different companies WSS horse/cavalry castings 15-18mm ranges: left to right Minifigs, Blue Moon, Black Hat and Eureka.

Those do look great.

I posted already on the Catalonians thread but got no help there… can you give an idea of how a unit of these should be made up? What figures do you need in one battalion?

Minifigs is really small, compared to the others.
And even Blue Moon looks small against Black Hat and Eureka.

I have mainly Venexia for the period, but have no idea how they compare to any of the others.

"can you give an idea of how a unit of these should be made up?" Wish I could help but I don't know anything about WSS Spanish/Catalonian unit organization. Are you specifically wanting to do Spanish?

Here's another shot of some of the different 15-18mm WSS Infantry. Missing are Khurasan and Lancashire. Lancashire are giants compared to those pictured (actually closer to 20mm).

Whoops, I don't think that photobucket link works. If you go to their site and look up my page: Ranfred, you should be able to see the infantry comparison pic.
