Hello everyone! I've been lurking on this forum for a while, but I wanted to share my new wargaming blog, largely dedicated to All Quiet on the Martian front. I'm hoping to post other stuff, terrain-making, etc, going forward as well. Really in love with this game, and enjoying writing up the reports. Anyone have any good scenario ideas? Blog: link The most recent post is my first foray into Napoleonics, but all of the other posts are AQMF related. Enjoy! |

Cool stuff. The best I've done is getting my wife hooked on Munchkin and the odd game of X-Wing. Keep 'em coming! |

Ha! Thanks. If you enjoyed the other posts, you'll enjoy the most recent one: The Convoy link |

Kudos for conducting a road march scenario. Good stuff. My concept is to embed into the convoy a variety of trucks, carrying coal, fuel, maintenance trucks, ambulances. Each truck is worth maximum game points, much more than any other vehicle. The goal is to get the trucks off the board. The Martians will then try to kill the trucks as high value units and tend to ignore at least some of the combat vehicles. This gives the Martians a very specific set of targets and it gives the humans an opportunity to deploy and combat the Tripods. I have another scenario with four bridges at the end of the human side of the board. Martians win if they destroy each of the bridges, leaving the human unit trapped to face a follow on unit which will wipe them out. Was considering when one bridge is left, the humans will boogie and try to escape over the one remaining bridge. Talk about chaos. |

Wow, I like that variation! I'll need to grab some trucks before I can try it though, so it might be a while. But if you do it, post a battle report – I'd love to see it. The bridge scenario also sounds interesting. Here's the new scenario I'm working on: link I revised it and will be posting with a new version shortly as well. |

Liked the staggered arrivals. My Wave2 stuff included a single, beaky Martian on foot. Am thinking of a scenario in which my Marines track him down in the wilds. Martians are also after him. |

Matsuru, I got one of those Martians as a "collector's coin", and I did a scenario like the one you describe. A fun game! Check out the scenario here: link Also, a new battle report, "Defend the Rail Line": link Hope folks enjoy. |

Loved the Depot scenario. I thought you might like to add a huge pile of coal at the depot to supplement all the fine barrels and cool supplies. The U.S. tanks are coal powered after all. I found a bag of miniature style coal to fill up my tank coal bins (after flooding them with super glue)on the rear of my U.S. tanks. The stuff is available at my local railroad model store, pretty reasonable too. Tripods burn up the coal…U.S. tanks don't go anywhere tomorrow to my way of thinking. |

Glad you enjoyed! The depots are wwii stuff, but most importantly, I had them handy. I just pretend the barrels are full of coal for some reason! I've been using sand for the coal bins on my tanks – first I mixed it into some black ink wash and put it in, but that made a mess. Much easier to just fill it with sand, drop in some scenic cement in a dropper, then prime the whole thing black. |
