See Wiley Sword's "Embrace An Angry Wind" aka "The South's Last Hurrah."

Good book, but a visit to the Carter house nearly 20 years ago really brought it all home? Thanks in the main to the characterful interpretation by our guide!

Went to school in Franklin, Battleground Academy back in the '60's. We could pick up minie balls whenever there was any digging on campus. And not just one or two, either. Usually a good handful.

There used to be a diorama of the battle in the Carter House, but it's long gone.

There is a diorama over at the store – older

Wiley Swords book drew me in – but also enjoyed the detail in link
