I disagree John the Greater. The use of the "bust" form of sculpture focus' us on the face and body and the body language, all of which can make a figure more powerful than with the addition of arms and legs which can be a distraction. The emphasis is on the face, and the shoulders, and of course in these the torso as well. This is eminently evident in the pieces above. I personally could sit and stare for hours on the expressions on the face and wonder.

Looking at both sculpts, there appears to be fittings for arms to attach to it. So maybe there is more to come. Both are very lovely.

Expertly painted skin tones … quite nicely rendered scultping as well
