Howdy folks!

We finally finished the playtest rules for our upcoming expansion, Savage Beasts. You can download the PDF on our site at http:/link

We're planning a Kickstarter campaign to fund some new Beast sculpts, that will probably be in June. It will be a short 2-week campaign just to fund the Werewolf starter pack, with a few stretch goals for other beasts, and a couple of new professions for human gangs. Just need to get our master models done and paint up a set to show off first. We're expecting to have the Chupacabra sculpts done this week and then they'll be off to the printer.

For now, we just wanted to get the rules out there. We'll be showing off the models as we get them printed and painted, but here are the 3D sculpts:

Werewolves (Nightshade shown in the back for size comparison)

Chupacabras

More to come :)

I got the final 3D files for the chupacabras today and just sent everything off to the printer! And as usual, I made some high res renders.

here's the finished Chupacabras

And here's the whole Werewolf Starter Pack – 3 Chupacabra minions, 2 Werewolves and 1 Alpha Werewolf

Hopefully I'll be able to get the master models done in the next couple of weeks.

In other news, we have an all new website. It's taken quite a while to get it all done, but we're almost there. I have the whole Blackwater Gulch section pretty much finished, and will be updating Mechadrome to match. The online store will still be the same though.

gangfightgames.com

This new design will make it easier to show off stuff and have news integrated, along with social media too. I'll be setting up a facebook and twitter account too one of these days….

And also, I just got the concept art for the Preacher, the 2nd new profession for Savage Beasts. Still doing some tweaks, but here she is now :) She was kind of based on Ruth from Hell on Wheels, with a little Van Helsing mixed in for spice.

We already have 2 other preachers in the game, Father Al the hired gun and Reverend Shepard from the Tranquility Crew. Even though Shepard is a Henchman in the gang, I was thinking of doing alternate character cards for both of them with the new Preacher rules, just so we can have a few more out there

Howdy Folks!

We have just updated the playtest rules for the Savage Beasts expansion. Included in this new version we've added rules for creating your own beasts, in addition to new rules to divide up the current and future models into 4 primary factions and 2 supporting factions.

The Vigilance Committee, Widowmakers, Dockside Drifters and Wilde's Rangers make up the Lawmen faction. The Clancy Gang, Bandidos Mexicanos, Bloodwolf Tribe and Secret Fist form the Outlaw faction. The Tranquility Crew are neutral and like other Hired Guns may fight with either side.

And for the upcoming supernatural creatures, all Beasts will be one faction, the Undead will be the second faction and released later, and Demons are unique enemies that may join either side, just like Hired Guns.

This change is done primary for fluff and background reasons, the actual game rules for all of the above gangs will not change. We will however be putting together new character cards for all gangs. The data won't change, so your old cards are still valid. These new ones just look nicer :) We'll have these updated versions available to download soon. For now, you can grab the updated Savage Beasts rules from our site :)

gangfightgames.com/blackwater-gulch/savage-beasts

(Right now there's just a download link there, but we'll be updating that part of our site with all the info and art from the book shortly :) )

I just got the prints for the werewolves and chupcabras (and drones for Mechadrome) and shipped them off to get the masters made. I was going to take pictures but the prints were a clear plastic and they didn't come out good in the pics, you couldn't see the detail too good. I'll take pics of the master models when I get them in a couple of weeks. Since it took so long to get the prints and we have a couple of weeks till I get the first masters to paint, we're looking at July now for the Kickstarter.

We just got some screenshots for the new Artillery piece. Was calling it the Grappler before, but decided to change the name to Werecatcher.

and here you can see how the pieces go together :)

Next up we'll be sculpting the infamous monster hunter, J. W. Clarkson.

Necros Sponsoring Member of TMP04 Jun 2015 6:48 a.m. PST

Here's a high res 3D render of the Werecatcher so you can see the detail better. You can click here for the large version.

I'm going to hold off on getting it printed until I get the sculpt for the monster hunter so I can get both done at the same time. So that will be later this month.

Planning out the Kickstarter now though. I'll have all of the original models available as add-ons, but I'm going to have to charge for shipping after the fact since there will be so many different minis and everyone's pledge will likely be different, it's not like a boxed game where you can easily calculate that ahead of time. I do plan to have EU friendly shipping though, since Game Salute/ShipNaked has a UK warehouse we can ship to.

At first I was going to have it were every $50 USD you pledge gets you a free hired gun or artillery piece of your choice. But with the previous campaigns I know there's folks out there that already have all the hired guns, so what I thought I'd do instead is every $50 USD in a pledge earns a $5 USD bonus, and you can use that bonus cash in the pledge manager to put toward other models or toward shipping.

I'll probably just have 2 pledge levels though, I'm assuming the werewolf starter pack will be $20 USD, but may be $25 USD since there's 6 minis and they're a little bigger the the average man, have to wait and see what the prices are when I get the masters. So I'd have a pledge for $20 USD or $25 USD for just the werewolf, plus another one for $50 USD or $55 USD that gets you the werewolves, 1 human gang, 1 rulebook and 1 savage beasts book, like a 2-player starter set. Maybe slightly higher to include the monster hunter and werecatcher too? But I want to keep it simple, no crazy pledges with building kits or anything like that like we did before.

If we're able to get to the stretch goals for other beasts I may add other pledge levels to include even more, but I imagine most people will be picking a lot of different add-on items. In the end I'll be using my online store as my pledge manager, and your pledge + bonus will be treated like store credit, like I did for Mechadrome. So the pledge manager will be open to anyone, but you'll only get the bonus cash if you pledge in the Kickstarter :)

I just posted a few photos from our Origins demos over on my blog here:

Thanks again to Porkuslime for running so many great demos and introducing a bunch of new gang leaders to Blackwater Gulch (and getting me a bunch of sales this week :p )

Howdy folks!

We just posted another new rulebook update, with a few minor tweaks & corrections, plus info for the new profession, the Moonshiner. Because gangs love booze.

We've also update ALL previous character cards PDFs to the new version, and will be offering print-on-demand versions soon (waiting to get my preview copies to see how they look). There are also playtest cards for the Savage Beasts faction now as well, plus playtest cards for a few new hired guns and the Werecatcher. Also, all previous gang members have been promoted to professionals, so there will be a lot more variety in your gangs now.

You can download everything on our downloads page here:

gangfightgames.com/blackwater-gulch/rules

We also have some new concept art to share for our Bandit henchmen pack. Again, these are going to be the generic no-name townsfolk that you can use to bulk up your gang. Each henchman type will have 1 of all the same weapon, in this case, the Bandits all have pistols. Hopefully these guys will be unlocked in our Kickstarter in August.

More to come :)

Things are shaping up and we finally have the master metal figures in house and are painting them up now to get ready for the Kickstarter in a few weeks!

In the meantime, here are some alternate Werewolves with ranged weapons, these guys will be the first stretch goal in the campaign along with the Werecatcher artillery piece.

The painted masters should be finished in a week or so, I'll share photos of them as soon as they're ready. After that, we'll get the updated rulebook finished up with diagrams and photos, then we'll be ready to launch the campaign!

Necros Sponsoring Member of TMP13 Aug 2015 8:15 a.m. PST

We're getting closer to launching our Kickstarter! We're planning to launch it on Sunday, August 23 if all goes well.

We just finished the Kickstarter intro video last night. Here is is!

youtube.com/watch?v=xDN9Zqs-OK4

I may change it slightly for the final version on the campaign page, since I have some new beast art that I should be getting next week, but it will be mostly the same though :)

Toward the end you can see the picture of the 2 Alpha Werewolves together. Croatoan is the leader of the Beast faction, he's the one with the totem staff. He'll also come with an alternate right arm with just a fist, so you could build him as a generic Alpha Werewolf if you wanted to create your own characters. I'm planning to have all Alpha beasts the same way, so you can build the character or change it up and make your own.

We're almost there! Here is a preview of the Kickstarter page:

kickstarter.com/projects/gangfightgames/141949701?token=8d438848

We just have a few tweaks to make, and I need to post the updated rulebook and character card PDFs for the beasts, should have that finished tonight or tomorrow.

If all goes well I'm hoping to hit the launch button on Wednesday at 7 PM EST :)

Necros Sponsoring Member of TMP18 Aug 2015 6:22 a.m. PST

We have a new update to our rulebook now, plus updated the final Beast cards now featuring just the minis we have made for the new campaign. As new minis get unlocked we'll add to them PDF :) You can get everything on our downloads page:

gangfightgames.com/blackwater-gulch/rules

The rulebook is still not finished, but this is the final text update before we finish it up and get it ready for printing. So the content is all there, all of the new Beast Callings, abilities and skills. It's still lacking photos, plus a lot of art and diagrams. That will all get added in before we go to print, I want to wait and see what we can unlock in the campaign and get photos of for the book.

Also, we finished updating the Savage Beasts page on our site and it now lists all of the different characters we hope to unlock for the new campaign, if you want to get an idea of where the faction is headed :)

gangfightgames.com/blackwater-gulch/savage-beasts

There will be 4 different Alphas (leaders), each getting their own starter set with other Skinwalkers of similar animal affinities. So after the wolves are done we'll have Werebears + jackalopes, followed by Werecats + cactus cats, followed by Werebirds & bats + Montocks.

We just have some finishing touches to do on the campaign page, and then we should be ready to launch it as planned tomorrow night :)

We had a great first day and now we are half way funded :)

We still have 2 full weeks to go.. in retrospect, I'm wondering if it might have been better to do the usual 4-week campaign, but I thought a shorter one would be nice to avoid the middle-campaign-drag, since most of the action happens in the beginning and end.

Right now I'm working on getting the print-on-demand versions of all of the character cards done, those will be available separately on Wargame Vault. I decided not to include character cards with the models to keep the costs down, and also because I want to promote custom gangs in the game. I'll be including the full campaign rules in the updated rulebook, and as a PDF for players who want to stick with the original rulebook.

Campaigns are pretty fun :) Your whole gang starts out as henchmen level guys, and you earn XP for completing objectives and taking out the bad guys. It's kinda like wild west necromunda or mordheim. What we hope to do later on is put together different campaign books with an ongoing story and different scenarios to play, and each campaign will introduce some new characters or professions/callings or even whole new factions :)

Howdy pardners!

In today's update we would like to tell you a little bit more about Croatoan, the leader of the Savage Beasts, and other Alpha Beasts.

Croatoan is a terrible Maneater and leader of the Savage Beasts of the Worm Woods, he has been credited with the destruction of colonies as far back as the Roanoke disaster. Now, his sites are set on Blackwater Gulch.

He carries a heavy Totem Staff into battle, and if he's not smashing skulls with it, he'll a make a Ferocious Swipe with his sharp claws, or perform a Lunging Strike that can reach enemies that might be out of his normal melee range.

As a Maneater, he always receives +1D6 to hit when attacking men in Infamous Gangs, and being an Alpha means any other Savage Beast in his Pack within 6" of him also receive this bonus. He is truly a force to be reckoned with!

Alpha Beasts

Maybe you want to create your own Beast Pack from scratch? Croatoan also comes with an extra right arm piece, so you can have the character model, or make your own. This is something we hope to do with all of our Alpha Beasts, we'd like to include optional arms or other optional bits so you have a couple of options for making your pack more unique.

We just launched our Kickstarter campaign and are over half-way funded! Please stop by for a visit and help us get our new faction up and running! You can visit our campaign here:

Howdy Pardners!

We just finished the next update to the playtest rulebook, adding in the rules for ongoing campaigns. You can download the updated rules directly from our campaign page here:

kickstarter.com/projects/gangfightgames/blackwater-gulch-savage-beasts

This will be the final content update for the rules, now we are going to start putting everything together and laying out the printed book.

In other news, the campaign is moving along and we continue to bring in new blood every day. Please continue to help spread the word! :)

At this rate, we should be able to be funded by the end, but I am not so sure about the stretch goals. If we just end up funding the werewolves and chupacabras, I believe we can expect to ship everything out around November or December. We pushed the campaign shipping date ahead to April just in case we needed to sculpt some new miniatures too. Since the werewolves and chupacabras are ready for production, we should be able to get them made and shipped relatively quick :)

That's all for today. Keep yer powder dry!

Necros Sponsoring Member of TMP31 Aug 2015 6:16 a.m. PST

These 2 brothers are among Croatoan's most trusted lieutenants. Kidnapped from the Ioway tribe nearly a century ago, Shunka and Warakin have since grown to fiercely loyal packmates. Their names loosely translate to "Carrying Off Dogs", and their name reflects the most widely used tactic in battle.

Warakin, a quiet and calculating Stalker, will creep upon their prey, sticking to the shadows, quickly eliminating lookouts and scouts. Shunka, the Savage, barely able to contain his bloodlust will rush in when the word is given, taking the rest of the enemy by surprise and completely off guard.

Shunka and Warakin make up the first Savage Beast Booster Pack, and both give your Beast Pack a hard hitting punch with devastating melee attacks. They are available as part of the Werewolf Starter Pack or separately in our Kickstarter campaign! Stop by and check em out!

Time is running out! Our campaign has less than 48 hours left! Won't you help us out? While we do expect to be able to finish the production on our first few beasts, a successful campaign will ensure that we can keep the new stuff coming, along with adding a lot of great new art to our updated rulebook and a lot more! We also expect to be able to fulfill everything by the end of December, rather than April which was a longer date that we set in case we unlocked a lot of stretch goals.

You may pledge to receive any of our new miniatures, or our original gangs, and we are offering free bonus miniatures to any pledge $50 USD or higher!

Check out our campaign now and join in before it's too late! The campaign ends on Sunday, September 6 at 10 PM EST! :)

Howdy Pardners!

While our Kickstarter didn't work out, we were still able to get enough regular sales to get the initial minis produced after all. We're still taking preorders right now, and will wait until this Sunday count everything up and figure out how much stock we need to order. So if you want to get in on the first batch of beasts, head on over to our online store and preorder now :)

store.gangfightgames.com/blackwater-gulch/savage-beasts

Currently you can order the Werewolves or Chupacabras, and we also have bundle deals resembling the pledge levels we had in the campaign. We have the end of December listed as the ship date, but expect to have everything ready to go more like November if all goes well.

In other news, we just sent the new rulebook files off to the printer and hope to have samples in a couple weeks. And, we also just sent the 3D sculpts for the Werecatcher and the Werewolf Support Pack off to our 3D printer and hope to get those prints soon too. We're expecting to release those minis early in the new year. Next up we'll be sculpting the Werebears :) We'll probably get those started in the next month or so.
