I've got a few questions about the free, modern, Cold War "Threat" rules, which are available on-line, and would like to ask Gary Mills, or Mike Norris about them.

Does anyone have a current contact e-mail for either, or both of them?

The Leavenworth e-mail address for Gary no longer works, but I see he is/was also a member of the Manhattan Maneuver Group.

I understand any reluctance to just give a friend's e-mail address to a stranger, so perhaps you can forward this inquiry on to him/them, and give them my e-mail address:

topgungrav AT yahoo d0t com

I'm considering using their rules for the 1970s, and possibly earlier, and later, so wanted to run a few questions by them, regarding rules, infantry weapons ranges (omitted in the rules), stat values for guns and vehicles, etc., especially for the 1950s and 1960s era.

Any assistance you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

I know that several Training sets during the '70s and 80's were derived from WRG rules.

In the mid 80's I was stationed at Ft. Riley & met Gary. I played Threat several times at Gary's home and on base at the simulation center – it was my introduction to micorarmor (a 30 year love affair at this point). Gary has long since retired from the army and still lives near Manhattan KS – he bought a home in Riley KS. You could try the (913)683-1292 number listed in on the Threat rules page – I know he used to post to the C-n-C website forum but it lists his Leavenworth email and the phone number above – I don't think the Manhattan Maneuver Group is active anymore but you may try to track them down through them (my google-fu is weak and yielded no current contact info)- of course you could try anyone of the people search webistes & pay for current info.

In the games I played, I remember only using small arms for calculating close combat firepower – with the exception of crew served weapons & LAWS & such small arms weren't used for anything outside of close combat – remember that an inch represented 50-100m depending on the ground scale you chose to use. There is a 'Direct fire on Infantry' table – you could use real world 'max effective ranges' as Gary & Mike did base everything in the rules on unclassified real world stats. As for stating earlier vehicles – pick the appropriate vehicle speed – the guns listed are by size & aren't vehicle specific & finally pick which group of vehicles it belongs in for the damage table – pretty simple really – I hope this helps. @ Saber6 – the Army's Dunn-Kempf rules were based on WRG but the Threat Rules weren't

Mako11,

If you get anything could you pass it on?

Thanks
