Is anyone aware of any such figures available? I am specificly looking for figures armed with the Lee Metford/Lee Enfield rifle. I know Foundry had a Perry sculpted line years ago, but I was hoping someone might know of a current manufacturer. Thank you in advance. |

Old Glory Studio Miniatures Ral Partha (true 25mm) All these are late 1890s British sold for the Boer War and NW Frontier. I can't say for certainty what they are armed with, but I assume they are correct for the period. |

I have got some Redout Enterprise miniatures in my Boar War collection. Nice miniatures but I personally prefer the Wargames Foundry range. |

Frank -I am pretty sure that the Studio Miniatures figures that they list for the British NWF are probably for the Third Afghan War and have the Lee Metfords. They are larger than Foundry and would not mix well with them. I have a grab bag of around 28 or so Foundry Boer War figures that I would sell you for $20.00 USD plus shipping. It includes at least two sets of machine gunners.PM me if you are interested. |

Rhingyll and Frank: The Studio Miniatures Colonial range British are not for the 1919 Third Afghan War, they're for the late 19th and very early 20th Century, before introduction of the distinctly different 1908 pattern equipment and widespread use of the Wolseley helmet. I believe they are meant to be used for the Tirah and Malakand campaigns in particular and any other real or imagined fighting on the North-West Frontier in general from about 1890 to 1900. They could also pretty much pass for use in the Second Boer War of 1899-1902, however the Studio Miniatures range is not close to being as complete with regard to Boer War British forces as either the Wargames Foundry range or the Old Glory range, both of which were specifically designed for that conflict. |

Mad Guru – Thanks for the info. Wondered what period they were specifically designed for. I have some of the Studio Miniatures British. I really like the way they look. I know this will aggravate the purists but I have painted them in blue trousers with the intent to use them in some 2nd Afghan War scenario. Lots of things possible when you are essentially God to these little figures. |
