Texas Grognard | 20 Apr 2015 2:03 p.m. PST |
I saw the parts trees diagrams for the Alte 250's, Early War Heavy Weapons, and Normandy Grenadiers and I have one word. HUZZAH!!! These models are incredibly detailed, versatile and useful heck I can use some of parts from the Alte 250 kit like the panzerbusche's on other kits. Forget hitting this one out the ballpark y'all hit this one out the stratosphere BRAVO PSC BRAAVO! |
steveinns | 20 Apr 2015 2:55 p.m. PST |
Stop teasing, you've got the 1/72 ones stashed somewhere ???? |
CATMAN2 | 20 Apr 2015 11:08 p.m. PST |
1/72nd version due May/june |
normsmith | 21 Apr 2015 12:04 a.m. PST |
Thank you for supporting both scales. |
Mako11 | 21 Apr 2015 12:07 a.m. PST |
Looking good. Anyone know, when, where, and from whom they'll be available in the USA? |
Martin Rapier | 21 Apr 2015 3:59 a.m. PST |
Yay, I know what I'll be buying at Triples then. |
Griefbringer | 21 Apr 2015 9:14 a.m. PST |
Those 250 halftracks certainly seem to come with plenty of weapon options, though the stowage options look a bit sparse this time. |
wargamer6 | 21 Apr 2015 10:37 a.m. PST |
I hope they didn't make a Hangelafette turreted version as these only appeared on the Nue version of the 250. The Alte version had a Sdkfz 222 turret . Mind you if they did they would be in good company ;) |
PeterH | 21 Apr 2015 11:21 a.m. PST |
There is always the stowage set, at least in 20 mm |
Roman Walt | 21 Apr 2015 12:22 p.m. PST |
Is there any chance of getting a 'content list' for the Grenadiers by weapon and 'outfit' (eg: 10 tunic /w rifle, 10 zelt /w rifle, 5 NCO tunic /w MP40) please? Also, anyone know what period the 'alte' 250's work up until? Were (m)any kicking around until the end? |
christot | 21 Apr 2015 12:59 p.m. PST |
Alte production ceases in October 43, so I doubt there are too many around after mid 44 (bagration and falaise), |
Griefbringer | 21 Apr 2015 10:57 p.m. PST |
Is there any chance of getting a 'content list' for the Grenadiers As far as I can tell, the set includes three of this sprue: TMP link And nine of this sprue: TMP link So you might be able to do the numbers yourself. Bigger versions of the pictures can be found on PSC website, if these are too small. |

I hope they didn't make a Hangelafette turreted version as these only appeared on the Nue version of the 250. The Alte version had a Sdkfz 222 turret That is also my understanding. The combination described in the OP of 250 alte with Hangelafette turret would not be valid. |
Griefbringer | 22 Apr 2015 11:15 a.m. PST |
What's the difference between Hangelafette and Sdkfz 222 armoured car turret? And which one is shown on the sprue in green: TMP link |
Hornswoggler | 22 Apr 2015 10:44 p.m. PST |
@Gb, I hesitate to draw too many conclusions from enlarging such a low res scan. But, concentrating on the external differences, the Hangelafette turret is roughly hexagonal with longer flat sides than the turret of the 222. It looks like this (on a Neu of course): link |

And lockfile error strikes again ! |
Griefbringer | 22 Apr 2015 10:58 p.m. PST |
There is a better resolution image on the PSC website, just click on the tiny images to enlarge them: link |
Londongamer | 22 Apr 2015 11:41 p.m. PST |
The turret shown on the PSC website is clearly not the Hangelafette version. |
Hornswoggler | 23 Apr 2015 6:04 a.m. PST |
The turret shown on the PSC website is clearly not the Hangelafette version. Yes, that does seem clear now. Better an error in CATMAN2's post than with the actual model ! :o) Maybe the description on the PSC website should be corrected… |
Griefbringer | 23 Apr 2015 10:36 a.m. PST |
So the model is correct, but they have incorrectly used the term "Hangelafette" to describe it, while it instead mounts the similarly armed Sdkfz 222 turret? On another note, anybody managing to come up with creative uses for the leftover bits from this 250 kit? I guess the crewmen could be used in 251 halftracks, but a bit less sure about the other bits. Mortar does not look like it could be easily dismounted. However, the 2.8 cm Panzerbuchse seems like there might be enough bits to place it on a dismounted carriage for the brave panzerjaegers on foot. |
HidaSeku | 23 Apr 2015 7:12 p.m. PST |
Looks like I better put some money down on my budget for May/June under the headline "PSC"… Definitely going to buy several boxes of the 250s in 1/72 scale when they come out! |
Hornswoggler | 23 Apr 2015 9:45 p.m. PST |
So the model is correct, but they have incorrectly used the term "Hangelafette" to describe it, while it instead mounts the similarly armed Sdkfz 222 turret? Yes. And the models look pretty good. The machine guns are as usual with PSC basic and slightly chunky, but it does appear they are all MG42s which could be a nuisance if you want to model earlier vehicles. My other (minor) peeve is I hate the way PSC model drivers (and in other kits co-drivers) as single pieces in their seats, usually with part of the cab floor as well. If they were complete separate figures you would have the option of building the kit without them, easily using driver figures from other manufacturers, and/or using them in other vehicles without having to mess around. But I will be buying these in 1/72 when they come out ! |
Griefbringer | 24 Apr 2015 10:21 a.m. PST |
My other (minor) peeve is I hate the way PSC model drivers (and in other kits co-drivers) as single pieces in their seats, usually with part of the cab floor as well. This is probably an effort to cut down the number of pieces required for a kit, thus speeding up construction and lowering the amount of sprue space needed (and thus toolng costs). |
Hornswoggler | 24 Apr 2015 8:11 p.m. PST |
Yeah I know. But I build all of my vehicles without drivers so it considerably slows down my rate of construction. But I do appreciate the arguments for it – just doesn't suit me… :o) |
Hornswoggler | 24 Apr 2015 8:13 p.m. PST |
And lockfile again !!!! Bump…. |
