Hello Having recently discovered the amazing looking Chunuk Bair diorama that's being built in New Zealand:
Chunuk Bair diorama on NZ TV … with 54mm figs by the Perry Twins and financial backing from Peter 'LOTR' Jackson, I decided to post some pics I took (back in 2012 – how time flies!) of a more modest but nonetheless wonderful diorama local to me, the MAFVA Normandy 1944 model, in the Land Warfare Hall at the Imperial War Museum in Duxford.
Normandy 1944 diorama, Duxford IWM With about 400 20mm figure, mostly AB with some Milicast, and lots of vehicles, it's not as big as the new Chunuk Bair model, but at least it's close enough I can go and see it whenever I want to! Let me know if you've seen it, and liked it. And if you drop by my blog for a look please leave a comment. Best, Sebastian |

such a cool diorama, I remember at one time there was talk of Milicast offering the farmhouse for purchase, but never saw anything more of the idea after that |

I had a lot of fun making some of the figures , which were asked for specially, and which we later added to the range. The model languished under a pall of dust in a very dark part of the building for a long time, but I understand that it's now much better displayed. |

Hey, great to have you come in on this Anthony. Did you take a look at the longer post on my blog? I hope you are well? Best, Sebastian. |

Just read your blog post. I had forget just how many items I did for this like the German prisoners, and the tired looking marching infantry, the new 25pdr crews and the ambulance figures. It really does look good though, and the whole model has a unity and consistency about it. Cambridge MAFVA did a great job. |

Very cool. I have a new appreciation of dioramas and the effort that goes into them now. Would love to see that one in the flash so to speak. I saw some Normandy dioramas at a museum at Arromanches back in the 70s that I remember standing and staring at for what seemed like hours. Airfix 1/72 for the most part I guess. |

'andsome' as my Dad would have said. 20mm is such a pleasing to the eye scale. L |
