Howdy all, I'm looking for some advice on finishing some bases…to flock or not to flock? link Thanks for the advice. |

I would flock but use the same approach – use lots of different colors of flock. Some pale yellow, some darkish brown/green, some bright green, etc. etc. To be blunt, as is the bases look unfinished. |

Here is how I did my Vietnamese, I am a big fan of the Gale Force 9 basing materials, and I used nothing but them for my NVA. I say yes to flock, because i use nothing but flock!
First of all the bases get a very quick slathering with brown paint (i don't bother with this if the bases are already brown) then the bases are entirely covered in "Foundation Dirt" then a few patches of "Meadow Blend Flock" then a few little bits and pieces of "Winter/Dead Static Grass". PVA glue was used throughout. The edges I then clean up of all the excess flock and paint with a medium brown (in this case Vallejo Cam Medium Brown. I think it's a good result, a nice base really sets off a model, I can see that your painting is alrady pretty decent! So your already one step ahead, plus it's easy to do. |

Yes, flock, and use at least 3 different colors of the GF9 flocks. I'm not only flocking, but also using some of the Silflor grass tufts, too. |

Thanks Lion…I've leaned very much to the flocking side. Cheers. |
