You mean the Boulogne camps? There are several monuments, the one for the ceremony of the legion d'honneur (or was it the eagles I am confused now) and there is a large poudrerière or powder magazine right on the cliffs that dated from this period

Ney's 1804 instructions were written at the camps--if that is what you mean…

Or are you speaking of physical evidence?

Perhaps he means 'Is there any evidence that Sergeant Bourgogne was Gay?'

Nothing you can see.
I would not swear that the river even has the exact perfectly the same banks as it did then.
Also, no "riverine" archeology that I know of to look for archeological traces of pilings etc.
Place was souvenir hunted for a long long time, including metal detectors more recently.
But, it *does* look quite the same as you might expect from the descriptions … albeit quite smaller than one might expect based on some paintings.
It has a sad "feel" or aura or whatever you call it …. but most of Belarus has that also.

greetings serge joe

I thought you did? Sorry! It must be your spelling that made me think that you was asking if 'Bourgo' minced his way back to….where was it?….Vilna?

Anyway! Many a brave soldier have been gay. I thought perhaps you were asking to flag up the gay community's contribution to military history.

Thank you Sasha, very interesting.

I think serge joe is being a bit chauvinistic to overlook the no doubt very solid contributions of gay soldiers throughout history.

No not chauvinistic but times chance like people greetings serge joe
