I have decided to attack the hordes of semi painted Age of Reason figures I have mounted on my usual 2" x 1" elements. I am rebasing them (no need to worry, I use bass wood with grain running long way!) on fender washers. This is to get things long dormant like Jacobites and Associators gaming in much smaller battles. However, should I decide to use them in element based games, what is the best magnetic base out there? I would want them in 2" x 1" sizes so I can just plop the washer based figures on them and have at it. I want them to have a relatively strong attraction but not massive. |

Damn AutoCorrect. It changed "fender washers" to "gender washers".

Not sure I exactly understand your question. Are you looking for magnetic bases or a magnet to hold your figures. For magnetic bases I recommend shogunminiatures.com. They have great bases of all sizes as well as metal movement bases. If you just need a magnetic surface, I use ProMAG magnetic adhesive cards from Michael's Hobby. They come in a 2in.X3in. strips that I peal and stick to 1/4in thick bass wood bases. |

I mount the figures on individual steel washers. I want a 2" x 1" base that has a magnetic surface on which I can place the figures. I have tried dome sheet, slicing it to size, but all I have tried is too weak. The business card sheets are designed to put business cards on refrigerators. Nowhere near as strong as I need. |

What I do NOT want is a base that I glue figures to the other side and place on steel trays for movement. If this base has a strong agent to hold figures based on washers, that's a different story. |
