Hi TMP people

I wrote a review of Sir Walter Scott's Life of Napoleon Buonaparte some time ago:

I'm working on a slightly more in depth version for my blog (this post is an unfinished WIP at the mo'!), which is here:

In both I mention – 'cause it struck me very forcibly at the time of reading – that there were numerous historical errors. But, despite my reasonably copious note-taking, I can't find mention in my notes of specific errors.

I know there's a lot of expertise in this community. Can any of you enlighten me as to factual errors in Scott's account?

BTW I'm only dealing with the recently published abridgement, as reviewed at the links above. I think the complete and unabridged original was a nine-volume behemoth! Which if anyone's interested, I found has been digitised and made available online here*:

(Complete?) Walter Scott Life of Napoleon Buonaparte

Thanka in advance.

Regards

Sebastian

* I haven't had time to check if the whole nine volumes are scanned and included here or not. Perhaps if anyone has a more thorough look they can let us know?
