…Future Rifles. "Defense Research and Development Canada—basically the True North's equivalent of DARPA— is building the smart rifles of the future. With a shell made of polymers and advanced fibers, the weapons are faster and lighter. Even with grenade launchers attached they'd weight just 19 pounds. We said the guns were smart, too, of course. DRDC is adding computing power to the rifles that will give them more precise targeting capabilities, GPS information, and ways to communicate and coordinate with other members of the team.
