Biblical character painted in 14th century book resembles Star Wars hero.

"A green-skinned figure in a medieval manuscript may look very familiar to Star Wars fans.
The ink illustration appears to show the Jedi knight Yoda on the pages of a religious document.
But in fact, the drawing is part of a bizarre representation of the Biblical story of Samson, one expert claims…"

A mighty resemblance, that is. Strong googler, you are.

Hmm, webbed fingers he has. Frog he might be :)

That makes sense, he was what, 900 years old when he died in 1983?

'when he died in 1983' Awesome! Thanks for that one bro!

As the expert is quoted as saying, I think the most likely explanation for the picture is that this donkey-eared, web-fingered Yoda is one of the many grotesques that monks liked to insert into the margins of manuscripts when they were illuminating them. I've got a few reproductions of such manuscripts and they're really beautiful, full of fun whimsical characters like this one.
Often it seems these pictures were sort of glorified doodles just for fun, though usually they had some vaguely allusive reference to the text. Donket ears = a fool; webbed hands = perhaps clumsy or slothful?

looks taller, probably a distant cousin.

Finally proof that the Jedi philosophy influenced Christian doctrine and stories from the Bible. "Tell you I will about Samson".

Maybe it's an ancestor of Bat Boy.

Because there was a big-eared, green monster in the story of Samson? Nice try, Biblical scholar.
