Slightly non-topical for Ironclads…and slightly non-topical for AoS. Seems more appropriate here. I have plenty of images of sol's from the side, or front. But I haven't been able to track down online any stern views of an late wooden sol. Looking especially for screw-driven (as opposed to pure sail). Has anyone come across any stern views? |

Thanks for the link. I was specifically looking for screw-driven ships of the line from the 1850's & 60's. I think the Hartford was a sloop. I believe only the English and French (and I suppose Russian) first, second, and third rates would show me the layouts I need. This is for a project of Bay Area Yards ships. I know the stern galleries were much reduced from Napoleonic times, but I cannot find a good picture showing the sterns. |
