This regiment is part of my 15mm army, but I can find no reference to any uniform distinctions in my rather basic sources. The period is about 1809. Is there any information out there on the uniforms worn by this regiment? Including drummers etc. Or does my imagination work on a blank canvass? |

Yes the 13th seems to have little to no information. TMP link and this one Rousselet info is void of info: TMP link Be prepared to paint them as you feel ( ie blank canvass). Sometime a tough way to go…. I did mine with basic red labels as most had at the time and the standard empalet colors. MG |

Without having them in front of me, I know the Bucquoy book on the subject had a lot of info on individual regiments and their distinctions. |

Thanks MG I think will follow your example on lapels, epaulettes etc. The volitgeurs will have the colpack, as I have these miniatures and need to use them up. Zoltar – I don't know that book – and google wasn't very enlightening. |

Bucquoy (maybe Charlkes?) did a series on the French in multiple volumes. One on Guard, one on cavalry (maybe two) one on foreign. I remember it was the only place I had ever seen uniforms of formations like the Chassuers des Montagnes or the Tirailleurs du Po. I also remember them having pics of a lot of oddities of individual regiments. Not sure where you could find a set or book. I know the author was Bucquoy or some derivation of that. Maybe check with On Military Matters? I am also sorry I do not know if it was this specific unit. |

After some late night web searching for anything of the 26e Leger I stumbled upon a great Russian website that shows the 13e Leger. There is also a painting from the battle of Landshut showing the 17e Ligne grenadiers and 13e Leger storming the bridge. those immages are most likley from the de Ridder collection, go to Gallica and search for it – there are plenty of very usefull uniform collections in the de Ridder collection, not only French and contemporary sources as well. |

Wonderful stuff. I had forgotten I had posted that and got a bit of a shock when I saw the OP! Alas I had to guess and didn't quite get it right, though not far wrong. My grenadiers are in bearskins and voltigeurs in colpacks and the ponpons have a red tuft at the top for the chasseurs… and there's a red flash on the epaulettes. Interesting to see the depiction of light coloured trousers over white gaiters. Many thanks |
