Looking to add some Libyan Colonial Troops to my WW2 Italians. Most of my figs are BTD and the old Warlord scale, so I would prefer minis that scale well with them (a little undersize is fine, since they're basically poor, malnourished levy).

I was thinking about using Askari Miniatures Libyan Askari but would like to try and find figures both on foot and mounted on camels, if possible.

You might have to go with Colonial-era meharistas: link

I'm guessing a little green stuff will hide any anachronisms.

camel mounted meharists were basically a police force .
from what can be read in the Fezzan campaign accounts, in military actions, even the "meharists" were "motorized cavalry" , for historical accuracy, a Fiat 634 will work ;o) .

( and yes, i dream of camel mounted meharists, and it's a dream ).
