…armed with a 90mm cannon. "On Wednesday, April 15, 2015, Iran has unveiled a new 8x8 combat armoured vehicle equiped with a 90 mm cannon, under the name of Aghareb or Aqareb . In recent years, Iran has made great achievements in its defense sector and attained self-sufficiency in producing essential military equipment and systems. The Aghareb is a 8x8 armoured vehicle which seems to use the chassis of a Soviet-made BTR-60PB armoured vehicle personnel carrier. The suspension has been raised to increase ground clearance of the vehicle. As the original BTR-60PB, the powerpack is mounted at the rear of the chassis, but with two exhaust grills located at the rear. The front hull part of the Aghareb is very similar of the BTR-60PB, but the nose of the vehicle seems to be longer…"

Given how much of TMP is terrified of Iran, until proven different, Im assuming its made of kryptonite, fires a 15" naval shell and can do 120mph. |

Actually, given Iran's track record, it's most likely a hollow mock-up. I'll bet the A-Team could have made a better vehicle out of scrap iron. |

I think that's an I-beam welded to the top of the turret to hold the machinegun pod in place. They didn't even spin the turret forward in this propaganda vid, perhaps it doesn't work or is seriously off-balanced? |

Why oh why is the MG gunner sat in a dustbin? It certainly does not look like he could button up quickly if under artillery shelling. I just can't see the logic behind the idea. A badly fitted Tobruk cone to mind. |
