Does anyone know if these were issued with any uniforms in the 17th century? From the pictures I have been able to find, they seem to have a fondness for red. But is there any text that mentions the clothes of the Transylvanians in this period? I have not been able to find any english sources, so any help will be grateful.

The recent book by Mugnai & Flaherty on the Long War of 1593-1606 – link – has several coloured plates of Transylvanian troops. It mentions uniformed Blue, Green and Black drabant units.
