For French vs Allies in the West "His Britannic Majesty's Army in Germany During the Seven Years War" is the best basic text (indeed there aren't many). Available as a reprint form 18th Century Press. Highly recommended. |

A second on Savory's His Britannic Majesty's Army, but be advised that most of the order of battle and uniform information is for the Allied side, not the French. Jim |

I'll pile on and recommend Savory. Duffy's "The Military Experience in the Age of Reason" is excellent for background. Piers Mackesy's The Coward of Minden is a good read and provides some interesting background on the special command difficulties that Ferdinand had to manage. |

The link below will take you to the German version of Wikipedia, specifically about the Battle of Warburg 1760. However, it has links to other battles in the western battles. The German may be a problem (it is for me) but the graphics are really helpful and online translating programmes go some way to helping understanding of events. link Regards |

Gee, I always saw myself as rather well read on the SYW/WAS, but the only one from your list I've read is Nosworthy's book ! Of Course I can't stand Duffy! |
